Developer of VA-11 HALL-A creates cyberpunk RPG .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND

Sukeban Games is currently developing a new game called .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND, which they describe as a cyberpunk active time action game with a battle system reminiscent of Parasite Eve. The protagonist of the game is a mercenary named Reila Mikazuchi. Players will have to be on guard as enemies can attack from any direction while exploring the game’s environments. To counterattack, players must dodge and wait for their action bar to fill up. The speed at which the action bar fills is determined by the character and weapon stats, meaning that as players become stronger, they will be able to fight back more quickly.

While the announcement doesn’t provide an in-depth explanation of the game’s plot, Chris describes its story as follows: “You play as Reila Mikazu; a washed-up mercenary whose glory days are long gone. In a last-ditch effort to get life by the horns, she decides to return to life only to realize that the real enemy is not in front of her gun. “

The indie developer plans to make seven chapters for the game, five of which are already made and playable. However, it has yet to announce a release date so as not to repeat the “N1RV ANN-A situation”. Sukeban is the developer behind VA-11 HALL-A, a cyberpunk bartender “booze-em-up” game set in a post-dystopian world where a corporation rules society.

VA-11 HALL-A was wildly successful as an indie title, and Sukeban announced a sequel titled N1RV ANN-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action in 2018 after selling 200,000 copies. N1RV ANN-A has yet to be released by the developer, despite announcing a 2020 release date, and it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing it anytime soon. Chris said that the .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND is “significantly ahead of the game” and that the developer is devoting “full attention to it for the foreseeable future.”

Sukeban has also released the first trailer for .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND and you can watch it below.
